Enter times in 24-hour format. A shift that ends earlier than it starts is treated as overnight (crossing midnight). Decimal hours multiply by your rate for a quick pay estimate. Everything is computed in your browser.

Add up hours from a timesheet or work day. Enter each shift's start and end time and any break, and see the total as hours-and- minutes and as decimal hours, plus an optional pay estimate. Overnight shifts are handled, and nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

No account, no upload — it all happens on your device.

1
Enter the start and end time for each shift (24-hour format).
2
Add any unpaid break in minutes.
3
Add more shifts with the Add shift button.
4
Read the total time and decimal hours; add an hourly rate for pay.

Why two totals

Hours-and-minutes for people, decimal for payroll.

"7h 45m" is how we read time, but payroll and invoicing want decimal hours (7.75) so they can multiply by a rate. Mixing the two up is a common source of pay errors — this tool shows both from the same input so you never have to convert by hand.

Tips

  • Log unpaid breaks.Put lunch in the break column so it's subtracted from the shift.
  • Split odd days into shifts. Add a second row for a split shift or a return-to-work evening session.
  • Round per your employer's rules. Some round to the nearest quarter hour — the decimal total makes that easy to spot.

Frequently asked

What are decimal hours?
Payroll systems usually want hours as a decimal, not hours and minutes. 8 hours 30 minutes is 8.5 decimal hours; 7 hours 15 minutes is 7.25. This tool shows both so you can copy whichever your timesheet needs.
Does it handle overnight shifts?
Yes. If a shift's end time is earlier than its start time — say 22:00 to 06:00 — it's treated as crossing midnight and counted as 8 hours, not negative time.
Are my hours or pay saved anywhere?
No. All the calculation happens in your browser and nothing is sent or stored. Close the tab and the numbers are gone.
