Upside-down mode maps letters to look-alike Unicode characters and reverses them, so you can paste flipped text into chats and bios. A few characters have no flipped equivalent and are left as-is. Everything runs in your browser.

Reverse text in whatever way you need — flip the whole string, reverse the order of words or lines, or turn it upside down into mirror-style Unicode you can paste into chats and bios. Instant, copy-ready, and fully in your browser.

What people use this for

Reversing text is more useful than it sounds.

  • Fun and profiles. Upside-down text stands out in social bios, usernames, and messages.
  • Puzzles and teaching. Reverse strings for word games, ciphers, or demonstrating string manipulation.
  • Quick fixes. Reverse the order of a list of lines without re-typing them.

Characters vs. words

Reversing characters scrambles words into gibberish read left-to-right, which is what you want for a true mirror. Reversing words keeps each word readable but flips their order — handy when you only care about sequence, not spelling.

Frequently asked

What's the difference between the modes?
Characters reverses the whole string end to end ('abc' → 'cba'). Words keeps each word intact but reverses their order. Lines reverses the order of lines. Upside down flips each letter into a look-alike Unicode character and reverses it, so the text appears rotated 180°.
Why do some characters not flip?
Upside-down text relies on Unicode characters that happen to look like rotated letters. A few symbols have no good flipped equivalent, so they're left unchanged. The result still reads as upside-down for the vast majority of text.
Will flipped text work everywhere I paste it?
Mostly. Because it's real Unicode, it pastes into most chat apps, social bios, and documents. A few places that restrict characters may strip or show boxes for some glyphs.
